Description:

Meryl Woolmington is an artist based in Arklow, Co. Wicklow. She graduated from The National College of Art & Design with a Bdes Honours degree in Ceramics in 2007. Since then she has exhibited her work in various exhibitions for example ‘ Ceramics at the Hallward’ and ‘Passengers’ in Waterford general hospital. In June 2011 Meryl completed a Fetac Level 9 Certificate in ‘Arts Group facilitation’ with Crawford College of Art & Design,CIT, Cork. Meryl is a member of the Crafts Councils Education Panel and has delivered a programme of workshops under the Craft Ed scheme.

Area of Experience:

I deliver art and craft programmes that teach hands on art and craft skills and encourage independent creative thought. I primarily deliver programmes that are theme based and children are encouraged to explore both material and theme synergistically. I use various different mediums but primarily clay when facilitating workshops.

Children ages 7- 12 and 12- 16. I have delivered art and craft workshops in primary schools and deliver weekend art and craft workshops in a children’s centre. I would be interested in delivering; post primary programmes, community based programmes and outreach programmes.
