Description:

Through exploring the overlapping interests of Art, Fashion, Fabrics, Stitch, Craft, Design, Nature, Travel, Drawing, I now create contemporary textile art pieces, incorporating classic hand techniques and even current technology. My previous Fashion design work has always embraced hand work, leading to the natural transition into Textile Art.
Having built an archive of old textiles, lace, inspirational pieces, etc. I have incorporated with sympathy vintage treasures with current hand work.
I embrace the value that time invested in hand techniques can create a unique piece.
I hope to explore themes in a unique way always challenging the viewer to look longer and look again.
I had two pieces in the final of the RDS Craft Competition 2011 and received 2nd prize in the Multi Media textiles Section.
I had two works included in the recent CCOI Seascapes Textile Exhibition 2011.
